BGD e-GOV CIRT
Shows fields for affected domains, logs, timing, impact and technical evidence in a cyber-incident report.
Open official sourceA bad experience, attractive bonus or familiar logo does not establish a scam verdict. Identify the exact domain and controller, then separate independent evidence, dated conduct and authority records.
An advertisement name, app icon, Telegram account or support agent's brand claim is only a starting clue. The browser hostname, redirect chain, app package, displayed company and payment instruction are separate evidence. Several unrelated domains can copy one visual identity. Put the hostname and first-seen date in the case ID so a later mirror is not merged with earlier conduct.
Private registration, shared hosting or a common analytics code does not prove control by itself. A relationship becomes stronger when company notices, regulator records, domain statements and technical indicators align. If identity remains unresolved, use unverified entity and do not transfer the known brand's reputation to the suspected clone.
BGD e-GOV CIRT's advisory of 17 May 2026 records fraudulent gambling infrastructure targeting Bangladesh, fake software, malware and local-payment lures, and names a domain indicator. It is strong primary evidence for that dated campaign. It cannot place an unrelated brand, mirror or recipient inside the same finding when the authority did not name it.
An authority citation should retain the publisher, date, exact indicator, finding type and limitation. The screenshot is stored locally, but current status should be rechecked on the live authority page. Later domain expiry or a clean scan does not erase the historical finding, and the old finding does not prove guilt for an unrelated current site.
| Signal | Preserve | Do not conclude yet |
|---|---|---|
| Brand-like domain | Full URL, redirect, referral source and time | The genuine brand controls it |
| Licence badge | Regulator, number, licensee and approved domain | The badge is true or Bangladesh approval exists |
| Withdrawal fee | Message, sum, recipient and deadline | The request alone proves criminal fraud |
| APK download | Source URL, file hash and device warning | Open it yourself to test for malware |
| MFS recipient | Genuine app receipt and provider reference | The recipient is the casino operator |
A bKash, Nagad, Rocket or bank option creates a familiar local interface. Bangladesh Bank's provider list supplies MFS service and entity context; it does not prove a casino relationship or merchant approval. From the genuine app, preserve recipient name, number or merchant code, amount, time and transaction ID. Keep a chat instruction separate from the completed provider record.
When a new transfer is demanded for withdrawal release, tax, security, insurance or verification, pausing payment is the reversible step. Use a known official provider channel for tracing and a complaint reference. Do not publish that an account was frozen or refunded without a written provider record.
One delayed withdrawal is a dated allegation or service event. Pattern analysis requires original records from independent complainants, the same exact entity, consistent chronology and any operator response. Copied review text, anonymous screenshots, one affiliate network and hearsay do not become independent corroboration. Use allegation verbs in public copy and show unresolved contradictions.
An authority action is stronger, but verify the exact respondent, domain, conduct, order type, effective date and appeal status. A warning in another jurisdiction may concern an unrelated company with a similar name. Do not place fraud, thief, criminal or scammer in a headline without defamation review.
Stabilise evidence before sending more money or sensitive data.
| Evidence state | Allowed label | Blocked wording |
|---|---|---|
| Exact entity does not match | Entity not verified | Brand is a scam |
| One user complaint | User allegation | Fraud proven |
| Named authority advisory | Dated authority finding | Every mirror shares the finding |
| Foreign licence matches | Licensed by that regulator | Legal and safe in Bangladesh |
| Records conflict | Verdict withheld | Cherry-picked conclusion |
A mistyped domain, delayed payment, duplicate KYC request, unavailable support or antivirus alert is important, but each can have a benign explanation. Test user error, maintenance, upload failure and false-positive detection where evidence permits. Writing the counter-hypothesis clarifies which test separates the explanations. Immediate protective steps do not need a final verdict: pause money, credentials and device access when potential harm is high. Close the case with four distinct fields for observed facts, explanations ruled out, unresolved risks and authority findings. A later complaint reopens exact-entity and independence checks rather than inheriting the earlier label.

Open official sourceNo brand outside the indicators named in CIRT's 17 May 2026 advisory is labelled a scam. Each source supports only the narrow proposition stated beside it. Recheck the live authority page before acting. Search snippets, advertising, forums and operator statements are not proof by themselves.
No. It is important complaint evidence, but a final fraud finding needs exact identity, context, corroboration and response evidence.
State the authority's dated finding only for the indicators it names; do not generalise it to another brand.
No. A familiar provider does not verify the recipient or casino relationship.
Match the exact hostname, operating entity, official licence record, app package and verified brand notice. Visual similarity is insufficient.
